NEW YORK

I would like to go to New York because I love USA. I think it is a very good city to visit because it has beautiful thing as the Empire State, Central Park or The Statue of Liberty. I would like to visit this year with the highschool in the echange because I think I will be a good trip. I would like also to visit some cities near New York as Philadelfia or New Jersey. I think it will be better than the trip to London. It was so nice to visit another country with my classmates and I hope I will do it again.

GLOSARY UNIT 10

Cereals: Grasses grown for the edible components of the grain.

Mortgage: A loan to finance the purchase of private residencial or commercial property.

Speculation: Investment in stocks but wtih the risk of lost.

Crop: A cultivate plant to be harvested as food, animal fodder, fuel or for any other economic purpose.

Agricultural landscape: A landscape transformed to cultive crop and rear livestock.

Cultural heritage:  The things, places and practise that define who we are as individuals, as communities, as nations or cultures.

Domestic tourism: The tourists don´t leave their country.

Large-scale tourism: Travel of a long period and distance from your country.

Tour operators: Companies that helps you economicly with your large-scale travel.
 
High-speed rail: A rail build for high-speed trains.

Peak season: Time in which the people normally go out, this time is in summer.

Off-peak season: The rest of the year, the people go less on holidays this time.

Recession:  A business cycle contraction; a general slowdown in economic activity.

Capital flows: The movement of goods or money

Exports: Goods that are sold outside of the country.

Imports: Goods that a country buy from other country

Balance of trade: The difference between the money of imports and exports.

Balance of payments: Is the record of all monetary transactiones between a country and the rest of the world.

Retail: Type of trade that sells directly to the consumer.

Wholesale Trade in which buyers purchase large quantities of good and sell them to another company.

Trade bloc: Area of countries with a special trade regulations.

Transport network: The connections that facilitate the transport of good and people.

Market: The meeting of buyers and sellers of goods and services.

Infrastructure:  The basic structure we need to make an economy function.

Trade: The buying and selling of goods.

Bartering: The exchange of goods between two or more countries.

Tourism: A sector dedicated to travel for recreational, leasure or business purposes.

Information society: Society where the information technology is envolved in the economy.

Public services: Services that are free for the consumers and they are paid by the state.

Private services: Services sold by a business, separated from the state, it isn´t free.

Mechanization: It is the process between do something manual or with machines.

Mining: It is the work in the mines.
 
Mineral: The raw material obtein in a mine

Fossil fuels: Fuels that are formed by the descomposition of buried organic material, and exposure to heat and pressure, producing substances such as coal, oil and gas.

Industry: Any ecnomic activity that produces a service or transforms raw materials into consumer goods.

Irrigated farming: Farming in wich the water from groundwater is boughtto fields.

Energy:  Power that comes from physical y chemical resources.

Biomass: Organic material used as a fuel that releases energy when burned.

Management: The people that run a company and ensure that goods and services of a high enough quality are produced and sold at competitive.

Workforce: The employees required to produce goods and services.

Wind turbine: A device that converts kinetic energy from the wind into mecganical energy to drive machinery or generate electricity.

Solar panel: Is a panel that attracts the solar rays for having energy

Renewable energy: Is an ilimited amount of energy.

Non-renewable energy: Is a limited amount of energy.

Traditional energy: Common sources of energy.

Alternative energy: Sources that are developing.

Dam: Is an artificial barrier to control the rivers.

Guild: Is a group of shops that sell the same products.

Heavy industry: A industry with large amount of sources.

Light industry: A industry with few sources. 
Cutting-edge industries: A industry with a high level of technology.

Craftsperson: A person who makes products using basuc tools and manual labour.

E-MAIL TO ITALIAN FAMILY

Hi Italian family!
DAY ONE
We are glad to receive you in our town. We have planed all the things we´re going to do during these days.
On Monday you will arrived around 8:00 so we will see you our town and we will go to sleep at 10:00
DAY TWO
Next day in the morning we are going to have breakfast in a café and then we will go to visit the high school.
We will have lunch in the street (sandwich), after this we will visit the casa liss and the shells house. Then we will go to the restaurant to eat potato omellete.
DAY THREE
We go to the swimming pool to visit our friend Tendero and then we will have lunch at a restaurant next to it.
In the afternoon we´re going to the cathedral of Salamanca one of the prettiest in the world.
In the night we´re going to the pub
DAY FOUR
We have breakfast in the Valladolid bar.
We will go to bullring to see the famous Jose Tomás 
 In the afternoon we will go to the Santa María´s reservoir.
DAY FIVE
In the morning we will go to the mayor square to see the Cervantes monument, the university, the frog of it and the astronaut 
In the afternoon we will go to the Salmantino´s football match and we will go to buy gummy in the cubero´s shop

GLOSSARY UNIT 7

Plot: A zone for farming

Soil: Is where we put the seats.

Crop rotation: Is an old way to farm in wich we divide the plot in part and in each part we plant different things.


Intensive agriculture= Is a way to obtain the more products posibles by exploting the plot.

Extensive agriculture= Is a way of farming that requires machinery.

Dryland farming: Is a plot that needs rain.

Irrigated farming: Is plot that rarely needs rain.

Polyculture: Is a plot where there are different products.

Monoculture: Is a plot where is only a type of product.

Greenhouses: Is a cover plot.

Subsistence agriculture: An agriculture where the products are for the consume of the owner.

Shifting cultivation: Is a migratory cultivation

Livestock farming: Is to get products from the animals

Housed livestock: Is a house where the animals are for being raise.

Cattle: A group of animals

Fodder: A chemical food for animals in a farm

Rear: Is the same as raise. Help the animals to grow

Economic activity=  Is the movement of money in the market.

Economic agent= A person involved in economy.

Goods= Products for consuming, such us foods.
 
Services= Economic activities that are tangible.

Production= An activitie that provides godos  and servicies for consumption

Distribution= The work of deliver the goods.

Marketing= The act of promoting a product.

Consumption= The act of buy a good.

Supply= Availability of something for use or sale.

Demand= The desire to own something in the market and the willigness to pay for it.

Inflation= A rice in the general prices.

Profit= The monnetary gain of a business after all expenses have been met.

Tax= A monetary contribution to the government.

Raw material= A product before make it for consumption.

I think that have a constitution is very important because if not we cannot have rights and will be a desaster. Also is important because to add a law, this have to respect the constitution and that is very good becuase we agree with it.

Town Council= Is the government of a municipality.

Mayor= The president of the municpality.

Councilors= The people that help the mayor.

Province= A group of municipalities in the same zone, like Salamanca.

Self-government= A system in which they can govern without other authority.

Subsidiarity= The principle of devolving decisions to the lowest practical level.

Autonomous Community= A group of provinces, like Castille-Leon.

Exclusive authority= Is the free of decide things to do in your city.

Share authority= Is the duty of to the same in your city.

Well-being= Is the feeling of pleasure and comfort.
